We are pleased to have launched a Christmas Stocking Appeal to help sick and premature babies and their families this Christmas.
Throughout December, you can make a donation to send a special message on a Christmas stocking to families at Cots for Tots House. Your messages of love and support will then be displayed in the House for everyone to read. All donations given will make a real difference to special care babies and their families at the hardest of times.
We'd like to say a very special thank you to local firm of solicitors Barcan+Kirby, who are generously supporting our Christmas Stocking Appeal. Consultant Giles Woodward and Marketing Manager Samantha Furley visited Cots for Tots House to hang their own messages of support, and meet House Manager Anne Clements.
They were joined by mum Becky Kingston Wood, from Radstock, whose daughter Teddie was born 3 months prematurely and treated in the Special Care Baby Unit for a life-threatening gut condition.
Becky has been staying at Cots for Tots House for the last 5 months. She said,
"Cots for Tots have been a great support to me and my family. Being able to stay so close to our daughter was a great comfort in a stressful situation, and being with other parents going through the same worries as us, meant we were never on our own. I've loved reading the messages so far, and hope that people will support the Cots for Tots Christmas Stocking Appeal and will donate to help families like ours, at Cots for Tots House this Christmas."
Samantha Furley, Marketing Manager at Barcan+Kirby, said, "We're delighted to be supporting Cots for Tots Christmas stocking appeal. It's an honour to be involved and all of the staff at Barcan+Kirby feel proud that we're giving our support to such a worthwhile initiative. From a personal perspective, as a parent and a mum who had a baby at St Michael's Hospital, I'm well aware of the work that they do in the Special Care Baby Unit. I was lucky enough not to need their help, but genuinely hope that this appeal is a huge success and goes some way in helping Cots for Tots provide vital help, support and encouragement to the parents of sick and premature babies."
